The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
