The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
