The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
