The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 then he mustered 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 you pay attention 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
