He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 when the blind came to him. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 To him you give attention. 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 and fears (Allah), 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 Assuredly this is a reminder 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 exalted, purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 Honourable and Virtuous. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 From what has God created him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 and then makes it easy for him to go through life; 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again). 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 the densely tree'd gardens, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 But when the deafening blast is sounded, 33 That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 whereas some faces will be covered with dust 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
