He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 and in awe [of God] 9 to him thou payest no heed. 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 noble and purified. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 And fruit and grass - 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 But when the Shout cometh 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 his consort, his sons, 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained; 40 and overcast with gloom: 41 They will be the unbelievers, transgressors. 42
