He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 Or become reminded so that the reminder should profit him? 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 But he who comes to you running, 8 and fearfully, 9 you pay him no heed. 10 No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 exalted and purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! 17 From what did He create him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 We send down abundant water, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 And We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 And fruit and grass - 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 on that Day, to every one of them will his own state be of sufficient concern. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 laughing, joyous; 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
Almighty God's Truth.
