He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 when the blind came to him. 2 But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 3 or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him. 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 Unto him thou attendest. 6 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 And he feareth 9 you ignore him. 10 Assuredly this is a reminder 11 and so, whoever is willing may remember Him 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 noble and purified. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 From what did He create him? 18 Out of a sperm-drop did He create him and then determined a measure for him, 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 And We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and clover, 28 and olives and palms, 29 And garden-closes of thick foliage 30 and fruits and herbage, 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 And his wife and his children, 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Many faces will that day be bright, 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 but some faces will be covered with dust 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
