The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
