The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
