The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wound up; 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 The closing night, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
