The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 by the night swarming, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 where then are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
