The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 that hide, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
