The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 by the night swarming, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
