The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
