Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 Even then you deny the Judgement. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 noble, recording, 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And they shall by no means be absent from it. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
