Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 when the seas overflow; 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical? 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Even then you deny the Judgement. 9 you do so the while there are watchers over you; 10 noble, recording, 11 Who know what you do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement, 15 and then shall never come out of it. 16 What will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 17 Again, what do you know of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
