Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 When the Stars are scattered; 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 (Then) a person will know what he has sent forward and (what he has) left behind (of good or bad deeds). 5 O man! What has made you careless concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 who know all that you do: 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 And they shall by no means be absent from it. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 It is the Day when no soul can do a thing for another soul. That Day, the command belongs to Allah. 19
