Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created thee, then fashioned, then proportioned thee? 7 and composed thee after what form He would? 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 The honourable recorders. 11 who know whatever you do. 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
