The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 No indeed; but upon that day they shall be veiled from their Lord, 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.” 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 Verily the pious will be in heaven, 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: 25 its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete; 26 With the wine is a drink from Tasnim, 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" 32 (they said so although) they had not been appointed watchers over them. 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36
