The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
WOE TO THOSE who give short measure, 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 Whereas when they give others after measuring or weighing, they give them less! 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 For a mighty day, 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 And what can make you know what is sijjeen? 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 Which none denieth save each criminal transgressor, 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts. 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Then verily they will be roasted into the Scorch. 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 a written record, 20 witnessed by all who have [ever] been drawn close unto God. 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting, 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
