The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
