The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
