The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
