The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 shall call for destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
