The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 and by the promised Day, 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire,] 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Verily those who believed and worked righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens whereunder the rivers flow; that is the supreme achievement. 11 Surely the might of your Lord is great. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 and He is the Ever Forgiving, the Most Loving 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 Executor of His own will. 16 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, 17 Of Pharaoh and Thamud come to you? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 and God is behind them, encompassing. 20 But this is an honored Qur'an 21 (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet)! 22
