The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 And [by] the promised Day 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 When they sat by it (fire), 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And they did not take vengeance on them for aught except that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praised, 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and women without repenting will suffer the torment of hell and that of the burning fire. 10 But those who believe and do good deeds shall be rewarded with gardens watered by flowing rivers. That is the supreme triumph. 11 Indeed the seizure of your Lord is very severe. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 the Owner of the Throne, the Glorious One, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 and God is behind them, encompassing. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 in a Guarded Tablet. 22
