The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 and by the promised Day, 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 the people of the pit were destroyed 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 while they sat around it, 6 Witnessing what they had done to the believers! 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment. 11 Verily, (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the Grip (Punishment) of your Lord is severe. 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, 14 Owner of the throne, the Glorious 15 Always doing whatever He wills. 16 Has the story of the armies reached you, 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
