Al-Burooj
The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of the heaven which contains the constellations. 1 And the promised day, 2 And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne. 3 destroyed were the people of the trench, 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 As they sat around it 6 Witnessing what they had done to the believers! 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Has the story of the armies reached you, 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 In fact the disbelievers are in denial. 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
