The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, 1 And by the Day promised, 2 And by the Day witnessing and the Day witnessed, 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 when they were seated around it 6 witnessing what they were doing. 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. 10 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces, 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 Owner of the Throne, the Exalted. 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 Of Pharaoh and Thamud come to you? 18 In fact the disbelievers are in denial. 19 God encompasses them from all sides. 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
God the Almighty always says the truth.
