The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of the heaven which contains the constellations. 1 by the promised day, 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 As they sat around it 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 It is verily He who initiates and repeats. 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 of Pharaoh and of Thamood? 18 Nay! The disbelievers (persisted) in denying (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and his Message of Islamic Monotheism). 19 although Allah surrounds them. 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
True are the words of God the Almighty.
