The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
