The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 and [then bethink thyself of] the promised Day, 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 When they were sitting near it 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and women without repenting will suffer the torment of hell and that of the burning fire. 10 Surely for those who believe and do the right are gardens with rivers running by. That is the greatest success. 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay, but the unbelievers still cry lies, 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
