The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the sky with its constellations, 1 by the promised day, 2 and by the witness (Muhammad) and that which is witnessed (the Day of Judgment), 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel: 5 when they were seated over it 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 And they did not take vengeance on them for aught except that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praised, 8 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. 9 Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 And He only is the Oft Forgiving, the Beloved of His bondmen. 14 – the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 Has it come to you the story of the hosts 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
