The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By oath of the heaven which contains the constellations. 1 by the promised day, 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 while they sat around it, 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 VERILY, thy Sustainer's grip is exceedingly strong! 12 Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces, 13 and He is the Ever Forgiving, the Most Loving 14 – the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 Pharaoh and Thamood? 18 In fact, the disbelievers had always rejected (Our revelations). 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate. 22
