The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 by the promised day, 2 And [by] the witness and what is witnessed, 3 Cursed were the companions of the trench 4 Of fire fuel-fed, 5 When they were sitting near it 6 Witnessing what they had done to the believers! 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning. 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 Honorable Owner of the Throne, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Has the story of the armies reached you, 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 and God is behind them, encompassing. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 in a Guarded Tablet. 22
