The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of the heaven which contains the constellations. 1 and [then bethink thyself of] the promised Day, 2 By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 As they sat around it 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 the armies of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
