The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 The piercing star! 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
