The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Indeed the Qur'an is a decisive Word. 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
