The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
