The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
