T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 We have not Sent down on thee the Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed. 2 but as a reminder to he who fears. 3 A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens, 4 (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). 5 Unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth, as well as all that is between them and all that is beneath the sod. 6 Whether you speak out aloud (or in a low voice), He knows what is said secretly, and even that which is most hidden. 7 God, there is no deity but Him. His are the most excellent names. 8 Have you heard the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family: "Wait! Verily, I have seen a fire, perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 So when he came near the fire, it was announced, “O Moosa!” 11 "O Moses, I am verily your Lord, so take off your shoes, for you are in the holy plain of Towa. 12 And I! I have chosen thee, hearken thou then to that which shall be revealed. 13 I Am the only God. Worship Me and be steadfast in prayer to have My name always in your mind. 14 Lo! the Hour is surely coming. But I will to keep it hidden, that every soul may be rewarded for that which it striveth (to achieve). 15 Let none bar thee from it, that believes not in it but follows after his own caprice, or thou wilt perish. 16 "And what is that in your right hand, O Musa (Moses)?" 17 He said, "It is my rod: on it I lean; with it I beat down fodder for my flocks; and in it I find other uses." 18 He said: 'Moses, cast it down' 19 and he cast it down, and behold it was a serpent sliding. 20 Said He, 'Take it, and fear not; We will restore it to its first state. 21 “And put your hand inside your armpit – it will come out shining white, not due to any illness – one more sign.” 22 "In order that We may show thee (two) of our Greater Signs. 23 Go to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel." 24
