The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
