The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
