The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He was created of spurting water 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
