The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
