Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
A. L. M. 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom, 2 providing guidance and grace unto the doers of good 3 who perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 4 It is they who are on guidance from their Lord, and only they are the successful. 5 And some people buy words of play, in order to mislead from Allah’s path, without knowledge; and to make it an article of mockery; for them is a disgraceful punishment. 6 And when Our communications are recited to him, he turns back proudly, as if he had not heard them, as though in his ears were a heaviness, therefore announce to him a painful chastisement. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens of Delight. 8 In which they will abide; it is a true promise of Allah; and only He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He created the skies without a support, as you can see, and placed stabilisers in the earth that you may dwell at ease as it revolves; and dispersed on it all varieties of creatures, and He sent down water from the skies and grew all kinds of splendid things upon it. 10 Such is the Creation of Allah: now show Me what is there that others besides Him have created: nay, but the Transgressors are in manifest error. 11
