The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Praise the name of thy Lord the Most High, 1 Who created all things and fashioned them in good proportion; 2 Who determined and guided them, 3 And Who bringeth out the (green and luscious) pasture, 4 then made it dry dark, flaky stubble, 5 We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget 6 except what Allah should wish. He knows all that is manifest and all that is hidden. 7 And We shall make easy for you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the easy way (i.e. the doing of righteous deeds). 8 Wherefore admonish thou; admonition hath surely profited, 9 in mind will keep it he who stands in awe [of God,] 10 And the wretched shunneth it. 11 He who shall roast into the Great Fire, 12 Wherein he will neither die (to be in rest) nor live (a good living). 13 Prosperous is he who purifies himself, 14 who remembers the name of his Lord and prays, shall indeed be successful. 15 Nay, but you prefer the present life; 16 While the Hereafter is better and more enduring. 17 Surely this is in the ancient scrolls, 18 the Scrolls of Abraham and Moses. 19
