Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 in a garden sublime, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 Goblets set, 14 and arranged cushions 15 and carpets spread out. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
