Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 and cushions arrayed 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
